Isabel Lema Blanco


isabellemaISABEL Lema Blanco (isabel.lema@udc.es) is a researcher in the People-Environmental Research Group at University of A Coruña (Spain). Her interests focus on transformative social innovations and sustainable transitions, being involved in the European research projects SMARTEES, TRANSIT and GLAMURS. She has studied for ten years the educative role of mass media (Lema-Blanco, 2007; 2009; 2005). She has been a researcher on the study Youth and Third Media Sector in Spain” (Lema-Blanco et al, 2016; 2015). Isabel has authored several journal articles and book chapters on national and international scope such as Comunicar (Lema-Blanco et al, 2016), (Quaderns del CaC, 2020; Trends in Radio Research, Diversity, Innovation and Policies,2018; Radio, Sound & Society Journal ,2016; Readings on the Prestige Disaster, 2013; Urban sustainability: innovative spaces, vulnerabilities and opportunities, 2014). She has been president of community radio CUAC FM (2003-2006). Currently, Isabel is a member of the committee board of CUAC FM and also participates in the Community Media Network AMARC-Europe (World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters). She has been a speaker at the European Parliament presenting the report “Recommendations to the European Union for the promotion of minority languages in Europe through community media” (Lema-Blanco, 2014; Lema-Blanco & Meda, 2015).
